Infosys Hiring 2024/2025/2026 Batch: Digital Specialist Engineer & Specialist Programmer

Infosys Hiring

Infosys Hiring 2024/2025/2026 Batch: Digital Specialist Engineer & Specialist Programmer

📋 Overview

Infosys has two trainee openings live at the same time, aimed at the same batches and the same experience range, but with very different pay and very different expectations. Instead of two separate posts, this one puts them side by side so you can see which one fits you before you apply.

Both roles at a glance: 0–2 years, UG and PG graduates of the 2024, 2025 and 2026 batches, full-time and permanent, in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi/NCR.

✅Education Accepted

LevelDegrees named for both roles
UGB.Tech / B.E. in any specialization
PGM.Tech, MS / M.Sc (Science) and MCA, all in any specialization

“Any specialization” is the phrase to notice. Neither listing restricts you to Computer Science, though both ask for strong programming ability.

✅What the Pay Numbers Really Mean

Naukri shows a single headline figure for each role. These are the same numbers, broken down:

Role and levelAnnual payJoining bonusFirst-year total
Digital Specialist Engineer6.25 LPA0.75 lakh7.00 lakh
Specialist Programmer L110 LPA1 lakh11 lakh
Specialist Programmer L216 LPANot mentioned16 lakh
Specialist Programmer L321 LPANot mentioned21 lakh

Two things follow from this. The “7 Lacs” shown on the first listing looks like the 6.25 LPA plus the bonus added together, and the “11–21 Lacs” range on the second listing runs from L1 including bonus up to L3. That is our reading of the numbers, since the headline figures are not explained on the page. Also, the joining bonus is extra money on top of annual pay, so compare the 6.25 and 10 LPA figures when you think about long-term earnings, and the first-year totals when you think about the first twelve months.

The listing does not explain how a candidate is placed into L1, L2 or L3. Do not assume you can choose a level. Check Infosys’s own communication for how levels are decided.

✅Role 1: Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee)

This is the broader, project-delivery role. Based on the listing, you would:

  • read the functional and non-functional requirements passed on by business analysts,
  • take part in design, development and testing,
  • write code, documentation and unit tests, and review your own work and your peers’,
  • run functional, integration, system and user-experience validation, and track defects, including ones found during user acceptance testing,
  • work on go-live activities as per the implementation plan,
  • respond to production issues with input from stakeholders.

In short, you touch the full delivery cycle, with testing and support as real parts of the job. The listing asks for “good programming competency” and does not name specific technologies, so a solid foundation in one language and the basics of testing matter more than a long skill list.

✅Role 2: Specialist Programmer (Trainee)

This is the programming-heavy role, with a visibly higher pay band. The listing asks for people with a strong programming background to build full-stack applications and enterprise platforms, and describes five technology areas:

AreaExamples named
Java microservicesJava/JEE, Spring Boot, Cloud Foundry, Docker
Big Data and MLHadoop HDFS, Hive, Spark, Storm, Kafka, Spark MLlib, Azure ML
Functional programmingScala, Akka, Play
Scripting and NoSQLReact, Angular, Express, Node.js, MongoDB, Cassandra
DevOps and IoTPuppet/Chef, Docker, Kubernetes/Mesos, Jenkins, Git, Jira, Maven/Gradle

The work described includes writing high-performance, scalable code, performance tuning, building new products with clients, contributing to open source, and taking responsibility from requirements through to production-ready code. The listing also stresses “zero defect delivery” and mentions applying AI in software engineering.

That list is long. It reads like a broad menu of technologies the company works with, and it would be unusual for a fresher to know all of it. Aim for real depth in one area, such as Java with Spring Boot or a JavaScript stack, and basic familiarity with the rest.

✅Which One Should You Aim For?

Answer these four questions honestly:

QuestionIf yes, lean towards
Do you have strong coding skills in Java, Python or JavaScript, with projects to show?Specialist Programmer
Do you enjoy testing, requirements and supporting live systems as much as writing code?Digital Specialist Engineer
Are you comfortable with a harder selection bar for higher pay?Specialist Programmer
Are you newer to coding, or do you want a broader entry into delivery work?Digital Specialist Engineer

You do not have to pick only one. The two openings are separate listings, and applying to both is possible. Read each listing’s own instructions, though, and do not copy the same answers into both if the roles ask for different things.

✅How to Prepare, Depending on Your Choice

For Digital Specialist Engineer

  • Make sure you can write clean code in one language without looking things up.
  • Be ready to explain how you would find the cause of a bug.

For Specialist Programmer

  • Build at least one full-stack project, and be able to explain every design choice.
  • Practise data structures and algorithm problems regularly.
  • Pick one stack from the table above and learn it properly, for example Java and Spring Boot with a database.
  • Read about how a REST service handles errors and scale at a basic level.

✅Honest Points to Keep in Mind

  • The listings do not describe the selection process. Check Infosys’s own channels for tests, rounds and dates before you plan.
  • No service agreement or bond is mentioned. Ask about it before you accept any offer.
  • The batch window is wide, 2024 to 2026, so you will compete with candidates who graduated earlier and may already have experience.
  • The numbers were seen on Naukri listings. Applicant counts and “posted” times change daily, so treat them as a snapshot.
  • The Digital Specialist Engineer listing does not state a work mode. Ask where and how you would be working.

📍How to Apply

Both listings are on Naukri:

👉 Specialist Programmer (Trainee) – Infosys

Keep your resume focused on real projects, and only list technologies you can talk about in an interview.
