Revature has updated its hiring poster for the Junior Technical Trainer (Python & GenAI) role in Chennai, and the changes matter. Compared with the earlier version, more degrees and more batches are now listed. If you ruled yourself out before, check again.
Three things stand out. The marks cut-off came down by ten percentage points. B.E./B.Tech graduates are now named on the poster. And HR screening has moved ahead of technical screening in the listed order. The listing does not say whether that order is strict, so treat it as a likely sequence rather than a promise.

M.E. / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc
2025, 2026 or 2027
CS / IT / circuital branches
60% or 6 CGPA throughout
B.E. / B.Tech
2025 or 2026
CS / IT / circuital branches
60% or 6 CGPA throughout
Two more rules apply to everyone: no active arrears or backlogs, and the marks requirement applies throughout your academics, not only to your final degree.
Some things the poster does not spell out. “Circuital branches” usually refers to circuit-based streams such as electronics and electrical, but the poster does not list them, so confirm your branch on the form or with Revature. And if you are a B.E./B.Tech student from the 2027 batch, the poster lists 2027 only for postgraduate degrees, so do not assume you are covered.
✅What a Junior Technical Trainer Does
This is a teaching job inside a tech company. You would help train learners in Python and Generative AI, and the poster describes the career path clearly:
Stage
Title
Year 1
Trainee
Year 2
Junior Co-Trainer
Year 3
Technical Trainer
The progression lines up with the service period, which is 36 months. Training and the job location are both Chennai.
✅The Rounds, and How to Prepare for Each
The poster lists four stages. Here is a practical way to treat each one:
1. Online assessment. Expect Python fundamentals. Practise loops, functions, lists and dictionaries, string handling, and small problem-solving tasks. Add a basic idea of what generative AI is and where it is used.
2. HR screening. Be ready to explain why you want to teach and not only build software. A real story helps, such as explaining something to a classmate until it clicked.
3. Technical screening. Go deeper on Python and be able to explain, not just solve. For GenAI, know the vocabulary: what a language model is, what a prompt is, and what makes an answer unreliable.
4. Presentation. This is the round that makes this role different. See below.
The listing does not say what topic you will get or how long you will have, so prepare a flexible five-minute structure that works for any Python concept:
Step
What to do
Example for “list comprehensions”
1. Hook
Start with a problem the audience already feels
“Ever written four lines just to square a list of numbers?”
2. Plain definition
One sentence, no jargon
“A short way to build a list from another list.”
3. Example
Show the long way, then the short way
Loop version, then the one-line version
4. Common mistake
Name one trap
Making it too complex to read
5. Check
Ask a quick question
“What would this print for [1, 2, 3]?”
Practise with three topics, for example functions, dictionaries and what a prompt is in GenAI. Record yourself once and watch it. Speaking slowly and clearly counts for more than covering everything.
✅Who Should Apply
You are a good match if you meet the marks and branch rules, have no backlogs, are comfortable with Python, and honestly enjoy explaining things to other people. You are a weaker match if the idea of standing in front of a group makes you want to avoid the role altogether.
